About the Bursary Programme

 

Anglo American is offering Bursaries for the 2027 Academic year to students pursuing mining-related qualifications. Bursaries include work-integrated learning and guaranteed vacation work.

  • Mining Engineering

  • Geology

  • Metallurgy

  • Environmental Science

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the Anglo American Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with strong results in Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum 60%)

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a recognized South African university for one of the specified fields

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Strong academic record with minimum 65% average

  • Must be willing to complete vacation work at Anglo American operations

  • Not in receipt of any other full-cost bursary

 

Required Documents

 

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

  • Certified copy of South African ID document

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate

  • Full academic record (if currently studying)

  • Proof of acceptance or registration at a recognized tertiary institution

  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A motivational letter explaining your career aspirations in mining

  • Proof of household income (parents'/guardians' salary advices or affidavit)
