About the Bursary Programme

 

MTN is offering Bursaries for the 2027 Academic year to students pursuing ICT, engineering, and related qualifications. Bursaries include hands-on industry experience.

  • Computer Science

  • Data Science

  • Telecommunications

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the MTN Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with strong results in Mathematics (minimum 65%) and English

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a recognized South African university for an ICT or engineering qualification

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Strong academic record with minimum 65% average

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and community involvement

  • Not in receipt of any other full-cost bursary

 

Required Documents

 

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

  • Certified copy of South African ID document

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate

  • Full academic record (if currently studying)

  • Proof of acceptance or registration at a recognized institution

  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A motivational letter demonstrating your passion for ICT

  • Proof of household income (parents'/guardians' salary advices or affidavit)
