SAICA and its top 4 partner firms are offering Bursaries for the 2027 Academic year to students pursuing Chartered Accounting and related qualifications.

Eligibility Requirements

 

To be considered for the SAICA Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizenship

  • Completed Grade 12 with a Bachelor's pass and strong results in Mathematics (minimum 60%) and English (minimum 60%)

  • Accepted or currently enrolled at a SAICA-accredited university for a CIMA or CA(SA) pathway qualification

  • Demonstrated financial need (household income below R600,000 per annum)

  • Strong academic record with a minimum 65% average in core subjects

  • Must be a motivated and dedicated individual with leadership potential

  • Not in receipt of any other full-cost bursary

 

Required Documents

 

Applicants must submit the following documents with their application:

  • Certified copy of South African ID document

  • Certified copy of Grade 12 certificate

  • Full tertiary academic record and proof of registration (if currently studying)

  • Proof of acceptance at a SAICA-accredited university

  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • A motivational letter detailing your career aspirations in accounting

  • Proof of household income (parents'/guardians' salary advices or sworn affidavit)

  • Two academic reference letters
